About Us
History
Founded in 1988, Ironburgh’s guiding philosophy is the transformation and rehabilitation of urban cores through the sensitive introduction of new forms of retail and residential units. Ironburgh has a proud record of transforming these neighborhoods while caring for each resident.
During that time, Ironburgh has developed over 5,000 units of housing, by improving the residential living experience through intense focus in our neglected urban communities. We have continually focused on neighborhood transformation through design, renovation, safety, and livability. We have also consistently delivered a better lived experience for residents through esthetics, amenities and green (LEED certification) infrastructure.
Mission
Since its inception, Ironburgh has developed a series of affordable apartment houses throughout New York State. The governing ethos was to provide spacious, safe, accommodating, and well-built housing for people in need.
That goal was met by building spacious units with large windows, functional cooking kitchens and great bathrooms. All units enjoy hardwood flooring, individual air-conditioning and have fire sprinklers to ensure safety. Full-time security with a doorman further enhanced security. Bedroom sizes built to accommodate both single seniors and family renters along with large community rooms and activity centers for residents to interact. These are all amenities that are sorely absent from most affordable housing.
Ironburgh has also funded several daycare centers with a daycare operator to provide working parents the ability to re-join or remain in the workforce. We accommodated children from three months to five years free-of-charge. Finally, we hired on-site managers and supers from within the neighborhood to further enhance a sense of continuity and to help us fully connect with our residents.
Our current housing developments will continue to further these initiatives ensuring a mindfulness of the communities that we partner with to ensure a balanced consensus of all parties.
